Wolfe Creek Station & Gift Shop Opens Daily at 8am
No trip to the Branson and the Ozarks is complete without visiting Wolfe Creek Station. Here is where you will check-in for the various tours and activities offered at Wolfe Mountain and the Station features one of the most unique 'themed' gift shops in the area, as well as (new for 2011) Ol' Blue's Gemstone Mining - a unique opportunity to take home a little Ozark's treasure!
Please plan to arrive early! You need to check in for your tour at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour departure time. Remember to tie back your hair and wear closed toe shoes! During check-in each member of your party will be asked to read and sign an activity waiver and then you will be allowed to 'look around' until your guides come to pick you up for your tour. This 'wait time' is a good opportunity to use the restroom or watch other participants as they are coming back into Wolfe Creek Station. You might also want to peruse some of the Wolfe family memorabilia or browse our unique themed gift shop.
Our gift shop is unique and its not just the merchandise that is special. Our shop is themed on the inside to look like Wolfe Creek in the late 1800's. The store features the stuff you would expect like cool t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and jackets - plus some stuff you might not expect such as: nostalgic toys, ultra cool birdhouses, decor items, and hand made amish crafts. One of our guests favorite things, though, is our line of "Amish Feast" jar goods. This authentic amish food (jams, jellies, pickles, and more) is incredibly good tasting and comes in a jar that depicts the scene when Eli Wolfe saved an Amish family from a enormous bear. And, yes, the bear is on display in the store along with an authentic Amish buggy in front of the station. Most days during the week we have an Amish crew working somewhere on the mountain. You might see them, but if not - you'll definitely see their handi-work.
Ol' Blue Gemstone Mining (new for 2011)
Mining is part of the fable at Wolfe Mountain, so while here why not try your hand at gemstone mining? Simply purchase a bag of mining rough (yep, its dirt from a mine) in the Station and step outside to our mining sluice where you will use a screen to do some old fashion panning for gemstones. You might find gemstones, pyrite (fool's gold), or even fossils. So, plan on taking home a piece of the Ozarks! Fun for kids of all ages (and the young at heart).
