The First Two Platforms Are Near Completion!

[singlepic id=166 w=320 h=240 float=left]It is official; we are on the last leg of constructing the first two platforms for the course! Aside from being yet another benchmark in our progress, images of the crew scaling the over 20 foot poles and working in mid-air offer countless opportunities for some awesome photos. We definitely recommend checking out some of the snapshots of the crew in action in our image gallery. In addition to nearing completion of the construction of the […]

Slowly but Surely

[singlepic id=150 w=320 h=240 float=left]There are no complaints as to the positive change in weather we are beginning to experience, though that is not to say that even the warmer weather isn’t bringing about its own, unique set of problems. With the increase in the temperature condensation is no longer freezing inside the gas tanks and causing the machinery to not work properly, but it is melting the ice and condensation that had formed on the ground, turning our paths […]

Back on Schedule

[singlepic id=138 w=320 h=240 float=left]Anyone who has been following this blog for any amount of time should know that the weather has been less than kind to us as of late. However, the sun has been shining the past couple days, plans to continue to do so through the weekend, and we are quickly getting back to our scheduled pace of progress. Today, we had the privilege of watching the crew put up the poles for the second platform and […]

One Step Forward and Two Steps Back…

[singlepic id=112 w=320 h=240 float=left]One step forward and two steps back… isn’t that the truth? As with any undertaking, we have begun to hit a few snags along the road. Luckily, our crew is more than competent enough to out-think and out-work even the toughest of problems. First, we will cover the frustrating. Are you ready? Are you sure? The topographical map provided by the government turned out to be completely inaccurate! I realize that by now we should have […]

Weather Slows Progress

[singlepic id=85 w=320 h=240 float=left]For the first time since beginning construction, there isn’t much to report. If you saw the pictures from yesterday you know that we have been battling overcast the past few days, and it finally won in the form of rain. The crew did manage to erect another set of platform poles late yesterday, but today it is too muddy to continue construction. Still, we got out to the site to capture a few photos. If it […]

Platforms Started

[singlepic id=78 w=320 h=240 float=left] We have officially begun to erect the platforms! It has certainly been exciting to watch the progress we have made so far, but this stands as truly momentous – we are no longer planning and truly beginning to construct. At the moment, we have two of the four poles that will hold the first platform in place and expect to have the platform complete shortly. We have also begun to anchor the first zipline while the […]

The Zipline Platforms Are Beginning to Take Shape

[singlepic id=66 w=320 h=240 float=left]Progress is beginning to take place quicker than we can report. For starters, the base trail of the course has been expanded by nearly a quarter of the length it was yesterday, though the real excitement is being placed on the zipline platforms. Much of today was spent marking where each platform will be, better plotting the course, and moving the platform poles to their designated areas. If all goes according to plan, we should start […]

Added a Mailbox!

[singlepic id=54 w=320 h=240 float=left]We have more exciting news today – we just put up the mailbox! (BTW the address is: Branson Zipline, 2339 US Highway 65, Branson, MO) Not exciting enough? How about the fact that our initial trail for the course is now approximately one mile long? Aside from simply being longer, the extended trail is starting to cross some of the more spectacular sights our visitors can expect to see along our ecological tour. Granted, the pictures […]
