After much anticipation, we have finally released live footage of the Freefall Xpress – the second half of our exciting Blue Streak Fast Line experience. For those unfamiliar with our Blue Streak Fast Line, it begins with a nearly quarter-mile zip that reaches heights of over 150 feet before landing onto a 100-foot tower. From there, you free fall 100 feet via a unique instrument called a power fan, landing as if you’d jumped 8 inches in the air.

Without getting into too much detail, the power fan incorporates a unique rewind mechanism that begins to provide subtle tensile strength as you begin to fall – in essence, allowing you to fall 70 feet before gently slowing to a stop over the next 30 feet.

Aside from being used to train paramilitary troops, power fans have been used commercially in areas such as Europe for some time, though ours is the first to be used for commercial use in all of North America!

Those interested our encouraged to watch the embedded video below for a better understanding of just how the power fan works. And of course, check out our image gallery for a thorough look into the development and current state of our entire zip line course at Wolfe Creek Preserve.
