Working Around Winter Weather

Winter Weather Threatens to Slow Us Down; We Are Aren’t Afraid

Branson Zipline Stays on Its Grind
January 12, 2010

As we roll into January we are beginning to get back to business as usual at Branson Zipline… for the most part. Our drill team is continuing to plug away, currently completing the necessary holes for what will eventually be platform/tower # 3, though this will be the fifth site in total they have worked on. It may not sound too difficult to drill a few holes, but you have to keep in mind that our crew has to drill 9 foot holes through what is predominantly solid rock to ensure that platforms are properly supported!

The winter storm we’d mentioned in our last post didn’t hit us as hard as some had anticipated, though it was certainly more than enough to keep us from being able to erect any more platforms or suspend any more ziplines. In fact, we won’t be able to return to those jobs until the snow is completely gone and it gets slightly warmer out, which shouldn’t be a problem so long as the weather cooperates from here on out.

In other news, we have recently brought in what is known as a ‘breaker’ to help us put the finishing touches on leveling the area where our gift shop will go. However, we are currently guesstimating that it will take around two weeks to get the ground satisfactorily level.

Other than that, we don’t have a whole lot else to report on at the moment, though being able to get back to work in any capacity is more than enough to keep us satisfied at the moment.
