The First Two Platforms Are Near Completion!
December 16, 2009

[singlepic id=150 w=320 h=240 float=left]There are no complaints as to the positive change in weather we are beginning to experience, though that is not to say that even the warmer weather isn’t bringing about its own, unique set of problems. With the increase in the temperature condensation is no longer freezing inside the gas tanks and causing the machinery to not work properly, but it is melting the ice and condensation that had formed on the ground, turning our paths into muddy obstacles that make it all but impossible for even the toughest of our trucks to push through. Still, you will hear no complaints from us…

…Maybe that is because we are still doing great despite it all! By tomorrow, we should have our course officially re-mapped to the correct contour of the land and ready to continue erecting the poles that will hold the rest of the course’s platforms. As for the two sets of poles that are currently erecting, they should be adorned with their platforms within the next few days as well. We realize this may sound like more of the same, and it is to a certain extent, though we are nothing but optimistic about the progress given that we are still on schedule despite the minor pitfalls experienced thus far.

Again, we can’t stress how difficult the mud has made it for us today, which leaves little to discuss in the blog. However, we will point out once more that you can continue to view daily updated images of the progress (or on some days lack of progress). In particular, the pictures from today should provide a better understanding of just how difficult the mud has made it to move along the path (especially the picture of our flatbed stuck in the mud on flat ground), as well as some great images of the natural beauty that you can expect to see in abundance once we are up and running!

By now, at least some of you should know the drill. Feel free to leave any questions, comments, suggestions, view the updated image gallery and prepare yourself for the Branson adventure of a lifetime – it will be here before you know it!
